Workflow
Set the maximum MB target, process the file and check the actual size of each result.
Example to try
Try a 10 MB target on a scanned report, then check each output before uploading elsewhere.
Illustrative check using non-sensitive sample input; not a claim of a measured production result.
Limitations and review
A large individual page may exceed the requested target; the limit is approximate rather than guaranteed.
Processing and privacy

Questions about Split by Size
Frequently asked technical and operational questions about split by size.
How accurately does Split by Size meet the target megabyte limit?
The split engine groups sequential pages until their combined byte size approaches your chosen limit. Because individual high-resolution pages cannot be split across files, output sizes are approximate targets.
Will splitting by file size compress or downsample my images?
No. Page content streams, vector artwork, and embedded images remain unaltered. The tool only distributes existing page objects across separate PDF containers.
Where does Split by Size process my input?
Files are processed by an isolated server task that measures page object byte allocations, with temporary storage scheduled for removal within 30 minutes.
